Nearly $6.5 million dollars of bond funding and additional funding have been invested in streetscape improvements in the Bailey’s Crossroads area. A majority of the streetscape improvements—such as brick paver sidewalks and plantings—have been completed, except for a final segment of sidewalk improvement along Seminary Road. The county bond-funded project will construct a walkway at the Seminary Road ramp and include the installation of approximately 450 linear feet of five-foot wide brick sidewalk along the south side of the Seminary Road ramp from Columbia Pike to Seminary Road. Land rights for the project have been acquired and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has been awarded the construction contract. Construction of the project will occur in summer 2015.
